GAS INSIDE THE HUMAN DIGESTIVE SYSTEM
When talking about gas in digestive tract, it pertains to
gas we burp or the flatulence we created. The flatulence is due to the bacteria in the large intestine that
releases sulfur containing gas. The gas in the stomach in which we eventually burp also comes from the air we
swallow. It contains nitrogen, oxygen and carbon dioxide. However, not all gas in the stomach is released. It is
partially absorbed also in the small intestine and few also move forward to large intestine to be released in
the anus.
